If You Really Knew Me

Did you know that the term "band wagon" was coined when a circus clown was running for political office in 1848 used a band in a wagon to draw attention away from his opponent at political rallys.

Well today I am jumping on the bandwagon...well jumping on if I can dig myself out of the textbooks, school supplies and lamination paper I have seemed to get myself lost in!

If you really knew me you would know that...

I have moved 12 times ( my Dad called me the other day to report this fact, thanks Dad)

I am completely OBSESSED with Gilmore Girls. I immediately feel WAY whittier when I get a little Lorelei fix. ALSO my Pre-Cal teacher in high school was Jared Padalacki's (Dean) cousin.

My perfect day would be spent in a kitchen. I would have a dinner party EVERYDAY if I could.
I graduated high school and started college in the same day.

Even though I am an English Teacher I have trouble spelling. In the 4th grade I got out of the Spelling Bee on the word CALENDAR ... I will never miss spell that word again.

My iPod is bi-polar, it can go from Texas country to Dashboard Confessional to Praise and Worship.

My favorite book EVER is Great Gatsby partly because of my Jr. English Teacher who would act out parts of the book (she is for sure one of the reasons I wanted to teach english)! I cant wait for the Leo version coming this year!

My 21st birthday was on Thanksgiving day... at the A&M v Texas game...at A&M... pretty much the holy grail of College Football.

I wanted to live in NY until I went... in January... and quickly decided I didn't want to give up my southern winters!

I was in Color Guard (the ones with the batons and flags and rifles) and were ranked #1 in the Nation 3 out of my 4 years in HS. Band was NOT nerdy in my HS!

The aforementioned Pre-Cal teacher said that Jared (dean) said that the scripts were so jammed packed that they were the length of a feature film rather than a 1 long sit-com! CRAZY!

I really like these posts! That picture of you being all legal with those two cops is great. What's the story there? Did you know them or did you just randomly as about having a picture with them?

Meg Cady said...

Wellll I had this obnoxious sign on our tailgating tent that announced to the world it was my 21st birthday so them came in all "big bad cop" asking to see my ID...then they started cracking up and someone suggested I take a picture with them!

Meg Cady said...

YAYYYY!!! For realllllz but now I am sad we have to wait longer to see it! BUT lets be honest I will wait forever for Leo as Gatsby.

Meg Cady said...

WHATTTTTT?!?!
But really lets be honest I would wait until I am 96 to see Leo as Gatsby, but not 97 cause that would be ridiculous.

That picture with the cops is hilarious! I completely agree about the NY winters, I grew up in central NY and that's why I'm moving down to florida, the winters are brutal! Love this post!

OMG. Meg, you need to understand that we are meant to be.

SO FREAKING JEALOUS that you know Dean's cousin! I'm still in love with him and GG is one of my all time favorite shows. I've seen every episode a million times. My high school english teacher and I used to take entire class periods analyzing and discussing each episode.

Oh man Meg, I just discovered your blog and I'm so glad I did! I am OBSESSED with Gilmore Girls too! I still record it on my DVR when it comes on ABC Family and have seen the series about 5 times all the way through ha! I also have a MAJOR crush on Jared Padalecki and have since I was about 15 (I'm 26 now...haha).

I also was in color guard. We pretty much sucked though! I don't mind, I had fun!

I loved getting to know you better! Can't wait to see what's next for you :)

I love this... mainly because I love you. And I love the fact that I am not the ONLY bad speller turned English teacher.

And I better be invited to that dinner party, obviously.

I love that you practiced colorguard at MY high school (and beat them. I didn't like those girls anyways)

AKA I love yoooou & can't wait to see you again ASAP!
