Week 1 Highlights

Well I survived my first week in the 8th grade from the other side of the desk.
I missed you all. I needed a break, but now I am glad to be back!

Here are a few highlights of this week...

"Miss are you sure you are not 16?"
Yes I am sure, I am not 16 now sit down and work on the lesson that I spent a lot of time coming up with.

"Miss are you wearing a bump it?"
NO! They don't even sell those any more... this Big Texas Hair is au natural

"YOU MATCH YOUR DESK!"
Yep, that one was planned in case I needed a quick camouflage moment.

Asst. Principle in the middle of a crowded hall way: "Stay to the left! Stay to the left. MA'AM YOU NEED TO STAY TO THE LEFT!"
Me: "um?"
Asst. Principle:"Oh I'm sorry you just blend in with the rest of them!'

Sounds like the first week went pretty well! And I'd say it is a compliment to match your desk - both outfit & the desk are very cute!

Aaaand that is why I teach elementary students! Haha, the real reason is because I'm terrified of the older kids, but it is nice not to be mistaken for one of the students!

On the other hand...I walked into a bridal salon the other day looking for my wedding dress, and was immediately ushered into the prom gown section. I know the feeling quite well :)

YAY!! So glad your first week went great! :) 8th graders are hilarious. And it's good to know that the "Miss" trend is all over Texas and not just in El Paso and New Braunfels! :)

Girl you are so cute! Love these quotes! Last week I got asked if I was 19. And I wanted to respond with "are you blind?" Oh well I guess we'll appreciate looking young when we're 80, right?

Haha love the bump - it thing! During my student teaching I had a girl stop me in the middle of teaching to ask how I did my hair. Gotta love student attention spans :)
