If April was a person, she would twirl around in an open field arms wide open welcoming spring with all her might. She would don Ray-Bans on the sunny days and pull up her Hunters when the spring showers rolled in. April would softly hum Colbie Caillat lyrics while getting a new coat of essie lilacism during her monthly spring pedi.
If April were a person, her Pinterest boards would burst with shorts and sandals and “perfect spring time” recipes galore. Her Instagram would be a compilation of blue skies and exploding floral colors mixed with #ootd of pastels and other springtime necessities—all exclaiming her excitement that it is finally spring.
If April was a person, she would be so over March’s “I-drank-too-much-during-spring-break-and-now-want-to-ram-my-head-into-a-wall-oh-wait-it’s-St.-Patrick’s-Day-let’s-do-it-again,” and would be ready for the things that I, Meg, am excited for in April…
STAAR – This week (actually today and tomorrow) my kiddos are taking their big huge standardized test. I am so pumped to take the pressure off of some of them. If you think about it, say a little prayer for the kiddos across Texas taking this test.
CRAWFISH – We are having a crawfish boil in a few weeks and I CANNOT WAIT. Ever since I started dating a Louisiana man these little buggers have had my heart—well, more accurately my stomach. (p.s. read about my first crawfish experience here, trust me it is worth it.)
I GET TO SEE MY FAMILY – We’re headed to San Antonio to spend some quality time with my mom and dad. My parents moved to South Carolina two years ago, and I know they cherish their Texas time with their kids (I am pretty sure their kids cherish it too!)
NEW CAR – I am fairly certain I will end up with a new car this month (hopefully a Ford escape). Scary, exciting and more evidence that I am in fact an adult.
