Cady, Like on Mean Girls

Internet, I am about to blow your mind.
My middle name-- ya know the one that is up there in the URL bar and the one down there in my signature and the one in my twitter handle and my instagram name and my email (so basically EVERYWHERE)?
Yeah, you say that like "Katie".
Is your mind blown?

After Mean Girls became a cult favorite I felt like I needed to write Tina Fey a thank you note... except I didn't because I started  having to say "Cady, ya know like on Mean Girls?". Because I see 573927 references to Mean Girls on blogs and Pinterest and twitter everyday I felt like I didn't need to clarify. Apparently I was wrong. So here I will let Janis and Ian clarify...

(Also shout out to Lindsay to who ALWAYS references this part of Mean Girls to me)
Cady is a family name. It is my great grandmother's maiden name and my grandmother's middle name. It is historical, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the women suffrage activist made it "famous"... or well at least famous enough to land on some 11th grade American history tests (I for sure got that question right on my history tests). I have always loved it (clearly, it is in every username I own) and been very proud of it's historical significance and family significance. I figured with some new faces and those who have been around here for awhile (I'm looking at you Katie) I thought I would make sure we were all on the same page. Cool! ok, now back to your regularly scheduled Wednesday!

LOL! I love this. But I guess I am a genius because in my head I have always been pronouncing it like "Katie."

Haha, love it. I always said it like "Katie" in my head. Thanks Mean Girls! ;)

Yes, yes, yes! Bahahaha! I love your middle name (and that scene in Mean Girls... obviously). Even though I usually only say "Meg" when I talk to you, I always think "Meg Cady" and sometimes even write it out to you. (I don't know if you notice the difference.) Meg Cady definitely makes you different from all the other Megs in the world!

"Yeah, I gonna call you Ca-dee."

Forever your Janis,
L
